MEET RICHARD
Sports Massage Built Around Your Goals.
Hi, I'm Richard, founder of RBS Sports Massage Therapy and a qualified Level 4 Sports Massage Therapist. I've spent years working with people from sporting and everyday backgrounds, helping them reduce pain, improve movement and get back to doing the things they enjoy.
My approach is straightforward: understand what's causing the problem, provide effective hands-on treatment and give you practical advice to help you keep moving afterwards.
I don't believe treatment needs to be over-complicated. Every client receives an individual approach based on their symptoms, lifestyle and goals — without unnecessary jargon or one-size-fits-all treatment.

MY APPROACH
Simple. Practical. Focused on You.
Listen First
Every appointment begins by understanding your symptoms, lifestyle, activity levels and what you want to achieve.
Hands-On Treatment
I focus on effective hands-on treatment rather than filling your appointment with unnecessary technical explanations or complicated terminology.
Recovery & Aftercare
Where appropriate, you'll leave with practical mobility, recovery or self-management advice to help maintain progress between appointments.
WHO I WORK WITH
Sports People. Busy People. Everyday Pain.
Sports massage isn't only for athletes. My clients range from people training and competing regularly to those dealing with muscular tension caused by work, family life, repetitive activity or simply spending too long sitting at a desk.
Whether it's a tight back, aching shoulders, sports-related niggles or restricted movement, the goal is the same — to help you feel better and move more comfortably.

EDUCATION & TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Teaching Sport & Exercise Since 2013
Alongside running my sports massage practice, I've worked as a Lecturer in Further Education since 2013, teaching Sport and Exercise Science to students preparing for careers and further study within the sports industry.
Over that time, I have taught a wide range of disciplines including Anatomy & Physiology, Sports Massage Therapy, Fitness Training & Programming, Sports Injuries, Practical Sports Performance and Rehabilitation-related subjects.
Teaching these areas has strengthened my understanding of how the body moves, responds to training and recovers from physical stress. More importantly, it has taught me how to explain complex information in a clear and practical way — something I carry directly into my work with massage clients.

Knowledge matters — but being able to apply it to the individual in front of you matters even more.
SPORT & PERFORMANCE EXPERIENCE
Understanding the Demands of Sport
My background in sport has given me first-hand experience of the physical demands that training, competition and recovery place on the body..
That experience complements my sports massage work and helps me understand the needs of people who want to train consistently, recover effectively and stay active.
At the same time, you don't need to be an athlete to benefit from treatment. The same principles of movement, recovery and managing muscular tension apply whether you're competing regularly, working long hours or simply trying to stay active and comfortable.

“Treatment doesn't need to be complicated. My job is to understand what you need, provide effective hands-on treatment and help you move forward with confidence.”
